Imperial Highway & Pioneer Blvd. Project – Week of November 16- November 23, 2018

Construction on this project is 87% complete.

Crews are constructing the sound wall along the Norwalk Blvd. off ramp from northbound I-5. Photos below from November 13:

 

“Pilasters”, or decorative columns, are added to the sound wall as part of the construction. Photos below from October 30 show the form assembled over the rebar frame of the pilaster and then the finished pilaster after concrete has been poured and the form removed:

 

Construction continues on the Norwalk Blvd. off ramp from northbound I-5. Crews finished pouring a final layer of black asphalt over the concrete base on the off ramp as we move closer to completion. We are also reconstructing the median and adding lanes to Norwalk Blvd. north of the San Antonio Bridge. Photos below from October 30 and November 13:

 

Workers continue to construct the median barrier rails along new lanes of I-5 between Norwalk Blvd. and Imperial Highway. Photos below from October 30 and November 13:

 

As crews work on Imperial Highway, Norwalk Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard bridges at I-5, one lane in each direction may be closed on each street (at I-5) during the daytime, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
