Construction of the retaining walls along the Norwalk Blvd. on ramp to northbound I-5 continues.  The lane shift on Norwalk Blvd. is complete and reconstruction of the median is in progress.

Continuing for the next several weeks, the contractor is running one day crew and one night crew to pour concrete paving for the new lanes on I-5 from south of Norwalk Blvd. to north of Imperial Highway. This will not involve freeway lane closures. Photos below from September 11. (Tap / click on photos for slide show and details):

Traffic lanes on Norwalk Blvd. were shifted to allow reconstruction of the median northeast of the San Antonio Bridge. Photos below from September 4 and September 11:

Workers constructed wooden molds over the rebar frame of a traffic barrier on new lanes of I-5 near Imperial Highway Bridge. Then they encased the rebar in concrete and removed the molds. The large pole in the pictures will hold the future overhead freeway signs. Photos below from September 4 and September 11:

As crews work on Imperial Highway, Norwalk Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard bridges at I-5, one lane in each direction may be closed on each street (at I-5) during the daytime, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
