Valley View Ave. Interchange Project – February 15 – February 22, 2019

Construction on this project is 37% complete.

Projected dates:
Completion of first half of Valley View Ave. Bridge: Revised to *late 2019.
Completion of second half of Valley View Ave. Bridge: Revised to *late 2021.
Completion of entire I-5 Valley View Ave. Interchange project: Revised to *early 2022.

*Update: As of Thursday morning, Feb. 14, S. Firestone Blvd. is closed to through-traffic from Marquardt Ave. to the Valley View Ave. due to flooding. The contractor will continue to pump out the water, but the closure may remain in place through Thursday and close again as needed through the weekend, depending on rain. 

Valley View Ave. is scheduled to be closed from Alondra Blvd. to just north of S. Firestone Blvd. (south of I-5) and N. Firestone Blvd. is scheduled to be closed from Gateway Dr. to Valley View Ave. for electric utility work related to our project at the following times if weather permits:

8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 until 12 p. m. Sunday, Feb. 17.
9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19. 
9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20.

Workers are constructing the falsework (temporary frame support) and constructiing the deck of the third (middle) section of the first half of the new Valley View Ave. Bridge just west of I-5 in Santa Fe Springs. See photo galleries below.
