This week crews continued constructing the “stem walls” on the edge of the bridge deck and marking where a horizontal grid of rebar will be placed on the soffit (underside of the deck). Photos below from March 12 and March 19:
Grading continues below the Valley View Ave. Bridge in preparation for construction of the new, elevated Firestone Blvd. and Valley View off ramp from southbound I-5 where they will rise to meet the new bridge. Photos below from March 12 and March 19:
At the Coyote Creek Bridge in La Mirada, the contractor poured two feet of concrete over the rebar frame of the deck for the final roadway surface on March 14. The concrete s now covered to allow curing. Photos below from March 12, March 14, and March 19:
In less than one week, the contractor constructed the falsework (frame support) and placed the steel beams of the deck for this open section of the bridge. Photos below from March 5 and March 12:
