Valley View Ave. is scheduled to be closed overnight in both directions between S. Firestone Blvd. and Alondra Blvd. and N. Firestone Blvd. will be closed between Gateway Dr. and Valley View Ave. to allow construction of the new retaining walls on Firestone Blvd. at the following times:
9 p.m. Wednesday, 11/14 until 6 a.m. Thursday, 11/15.
9 p.m. Thursday, 11/15 until 6 a.m. Friday, 11/16.
9 p.m. Sunday, 11/18 until 6 a.m. Monday, 11/19.
9 p.m. Monday, 11/19 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, 11/20.
9 p.m. Tuesday, 11/20 until 6 a.m. Wednessday, 11/21.
Access to all I-5 on and off ramps will remain open. Access to businesses will be permitted.
Detours: Northbound Valley View Ave. traffic will be detoured through S. Firestone north to Alondra Blvd. and east back to Valley View Ave. Southbound Valley View Ave. traffic will be detoured west on Alondra Blvd. to Carmenita Rd., south to Artesia Blvd., and east back to Valley View Ave.
The portion of the Valley View Ave. Bridge over I-5: On the night of Thursday, November 8, the final concrete deck was poured over the rebar frame. Photos below show the deck before the pour (October 30) and after (November 13). The fresh concrete is covered with tarps and kept moist with water to allow proper curing. Construction of framework for structure that will provide support during construction of future portions of the Valley View Ave. Bridge is underway at the north end of the bridge. Photos below from November 13:

Construction of retaining walls for the new southbound Firestone Blvd. where it will connect to Valley View Ave. in La Mirada continues. Photos below from November 13:
At the Coyote Creek Bridge in La Mirada, workers have been drilling and driving piles into the ground to support the future bridge abutment wall. Local businesses should expect vibration and loud pounding during the day for several weeks. The piles are long, steel, hollow, cylindrical pipes that are driven deep into the ground. Construction of the footings and the rebar frames for the abutment wall is underway. The rebar frames will be covered with forms to encase the walls in concrete. Construction of the pier walls that will support the new bridge over Coyote Creek, east of I-5 near Trojan Way in La Mirada, is complete. The bridge will carry the new lanes of I-5 and N. Firestone Blvd. Photos below:
Grading is underway in the construction zone where the Valley View Ave. off ramp from southbound I-5 and the southbound Firestone Blvd. ramp will connect to the Valley View Ave. Bridge. Photos below from November 13:
The final layer of concrete has been poured on the surface of the Valley View Ave. Bridge over Arbor Place and west of I-5 in Cerritos. Photos below from October 2:
